As you know, Trenton has a long history of supplying innovative single board computers designed for robust embedded computing applications where long-life product stability and availability are critical to the rackmount computer design. Our latest entries into the marketplace are the Westmere-based WTM7026 embedded motherboard and the Nahalem-based NTM6900 embedded motherboard.
Yes, you heard right, Trenton is in the embedded motherboard business and providing the same level of performance and long-life product support that you’ve known us for in single board computers, backplanes and rackmount systems.
The Trenton WTM7026 is an ExtendedATX (SSI-EEB) motherboard that supports two processors, twelve DDR3-1333 memory sockets and seven option card slots. The board’s card slots support various option card interfaces including PCI Express 2.0, PCIe 1.1 and PCI 32-bit/33MHz.
The Intel® Xeon® processor E5645 is a long-life embedded processor with six-cores, including Intel® Hyper-Threading, Intel® Virtualization Technology and Intel® TXT. The Intel® TXT feature is new to this class of Intel® Xeon® processors and will prove valuable in secure data server applications. Both the WTM7026 and NTM6900 motherboards have an on-board TPM 1.2 to support Trusted Computing applications.
I’ll share the power test results in a future blog that will compare the Westmere-EP and Nehalem-EP system architectures. In the meantime, feel free to check out the data sheets for both motherboards in the Downloads areas of both product detail web pages.
From a systems perspective, these embedded motherboards can be configured in a wide range of industrial enclosures to create a customer-driven computing solution. A good example is Trenton’s TRC3000 rackmount computer, ideal for deployment in critical Government & Defense applications, as well as many Medical, Communications and Energy sectors.
