Graphics Processing Units in Rackmount Computers

by Jim Renehan on December 8, 2010

Trenton is formally announcing a partnership with NVIDIA to provide integrated rackmount computer systems optimized for use with NVIDIA’s latest Tesla C20-series GPU cards.

NVIDIA Tesla Preferred PartnerAs many of you know, getting a computer system to behave itself with multiple double-wide, full-length graphics or video cards each requiring a x16 PCI Express electrical link can present a challenge.  For years Trenton has been know as the supplier of choice for industry standard PICMG passive backplanes and single board computers that address a wide variety of critical applications.  We have a couple of backplanes in the works that will solve this multiple x16 PCIe link interface dilemma and make it possible to supply integrated rackmount computing solutions capable of supporting multiple GPU cards such as NVIDIA’s family of Tesla cards.

Here are a few key advantages of working with Trenton to design a Tesla-based computing solution:

* Comprehensive system design ensures maximum performance with Tesla GPU computing processors
* Wide range of high-performance backplanes incorporating the latest PCI Express 2.0 technology
* BIOS modifications available to satisfy unique system configuration requirements
* System enclosure design capability to incorporate specific features and functionality
* All Trenton board level products are designed and manufactured in the United States
* Trenton’s manufacturing and integration facilities are ISO 9001:2008 Certified
* Seven year embedded product lifecycle support and industry leading customer service
* Five year warranty on Trenton system host boards, backplanes and embedded motherboards
