The TRC2005′s lightweight aluminum 2U chassis is only 18″ deep, yet it provides mounting for four front access storage drives, and with the backplane, power supply and SBC installed, the computer weighs a scant 23.8 lbs. The PICMG 1.3 butterfly backplane hosts a wide range of single board computers, including the dual-processor JXT6966 and Trenton’s new Sandy Bridge-based TSB7053. A variety of optional PCI backplanes include support for PCIe, PCI-X and PCI card slots.
Power supply options include a 650 watt 2U fixed rear-mounted unit and a 400 watt 1U removable. Cooling is provided by 3 80mm front-mounted 67CFM fans while front panel LEDs indicate hard disk drive activity and power status. The system air filter is front panel accessible for ease of maintenance.
